GOAL SETTING

Why is the importance of goal setting so relevant in our Life?

Doesn’t it go against the Indian scriptural philosophy of “doing one’s Karma and not worrying about the result”?

Were our ancient wise ones wrong?

Various modern day researches show that Personal Goal setting is imperative to move forward in Life. The goals need not all be tangible or need not be quantified all the time. They need to be linked however to who you are and be specific and realistic in nature.

Identifying your own self is an important step to this process.

There can be no generic pathways and goals. It is defined by one’s own feeling of abundance, self-assurance, well -being, needs, desires and various other factors. A well- structured and thought out exercise can give purchase to a sense of self-worth, confidence, and assertion to action and perhaps most importantly bring clarity to thought and action.

The principles sound easy and obvious. The process can get quite blurred.

Goals change. Or should they?
Goals fall by the way. Is that alright?
They can get overtly ambitious. Is that wrong?
We all have inspirations in life and goals are often outlined by them because we want to be where they are. Is that correct?
As one progresses in life some goals get irrelevant. So did you err?
One should focus only on one goal at a time to be successful. Is it?
